2028 Academic Deployment Cohort — Waitlist Open
"Black intellectual capital belongs within international classrooms, research collaborations, and leadership forums across the world."
About the Program
Black Doctorates Deployed in Destinations (B3D) is a global academic mobility, academic tourism, and cultural heritage tourism initiative that connects Black doctoral professionals and scholars with international universities, research institutions, professional and cross-cultural engagement opportunities throughout Diaspora-connected destinations.
Through a unique two-week framework (Week 1: Academic Deployment at partner universities and institutions; Week 2: cultural heritage exploration throughout host destinations), B3D expands access to international teaching, speaking, research, and collaborative engagement for Black doctoral professionals and scholars seeking meaningful global impact.
Engagement Types

Deliver specialized lectures at partner universities worldwide, sharing expertise that reshapes curricula and elevates discourse.
Partner with international institutions to design, review, or revitalize academic curricula, bringing a Black scholarly lens and global perspective to course development, program assessment, and pedagogical innovation.
Collaborate with global research teams, contributing to landmark studies and advancing knowledge in your field on an international scale.
Command international stages as a keynote or featured speaker, amplifying Black scholarly voices in the world's most prestigious academic forums.
Bring your doctoral expertise directly to institutions, organizations, and agencies seeking specialized knowledge. Provide strategic guidance, program assessment, policy review, and expert consultation that drives meaningful change.
Connect with Diaspora communities, cultural organizations, and local networks at your destination. Build bridges between Black scholarly expertise and the communities that stand to benefit most from it.
Why B3D
Traditional global academic exchange often requires scholars to independently identify institutional hosts, build relationships, and navigate international logistics alone. B3D serves as a strategic connector, curating university, government, and community partnerships, academic deployment opportunities, and travel management on behalf of participants.
B3D was created specifically to address the underrepresentation of Black doctoral professionals and scholars in international academic engagement. Every aspect of the program, from opportunity curation to cultural programming, centers Black intellectual capital and Diaspora-connected experiences.
B3D integrates cultural heritage exploration into every deployment. Participants don't just contribute academically. They reconnect through heritage tours, community engagement, and immersive experiences throughout Diaspora-connected destinations. Free time for rest and relaxation is built into the itinerary.
Global Reach
B3D launches with a focused network spanning Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean, regions deeply connected to the African Diaspora, with additional destinations to be announced.
