From Waitlist to Global Deployment
Join the Waitlist
Submit your information to join the B3D waitlist and receive priority access to application details for the 2028 Academic Deployment Cohort.
Complete Your Application
When applications open, submit your academic profile, areas of expertise, preferred engagement types, and destination interests. B3D reviews all applications to ensure strong alignment with partner institutions.
Cohort Selection & Matching
Selected scholars are matched with partner universities and institutions based on expertise, availability, and institutional needs. B3D handles the institutional outreach and partnership coordination on your behalf.
Pre-Deployment Preparation
Accepted cohort members receive comprehensive pre-departure support including logistical guidance, cultural orientation, engagement preparation, and community connection with fellow cohort scholars.
International Deployment: Two Weeks, Two Dimensions
Your two-week deployment is structured in two distinct phases. Week 1 is Academic Deployment: you engage with your host institution through guest lectures, workshops, research collaboration, teaching, or speaking engagements. Week 2 is cultural heritage exploration: you participate in curated heritage tours, community immersion, culinary experiences, and Diaspora-connected cultural programming throughout your destination. Free time for rest and relaxation is built into the itinerary so you return home restored as well as inspired.

Return with expanded international visibility, a strengthened global network, new research collaborations, and a portfolio of international academic engagement that advances your career and amplifies your scholarly impact.

Eligibility
Who B3D Is Built For
B3D is designed for Black doctoral professionals and scholars at all career stages, from emerging scholars to established faculty, independent researchers, and scholar-practitioners.
- Earned doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, MD, JD, or equivalent terminal degree)
- Active engagement in academic, research, or professional practice in your field
- Commitment to international academic engagement and cross-cultural exchange
- Availability for a two-week international deployment (Week 1: Academic Deployment / Week 2: cultural heritage exploration)
- Alignment with B3D's mission of expanding Black scholarly visibility globally
